ZAKAT COLLECTION

In order to eliminate the poverty in community Omys support to deserving people of the Memon community, persons are provided financial assistance from zakat but the only source available us to support non Memon deserving persons is Zakat. The wealthy Memon Community very generously contributes to Zakat fund established and maintained by OMYS. The year to year increase in the Zakat fund actually reflects the trust of donors in OMYS and transparent distribution of Zakat in the deserving persons. The organized Zakat Collection enable to OMYS to Collect every highest amount Rupees 36,918,550.00 of Zakat this Year.

ZAKAT DISBURSEMENT

Utilization of Zakat is carried-out during whole year through Zakat Disbursement Committee. Before the assistance of needy peoples the Zakat disbursement Committee investigates and inquire about the economic status and asses the need of the family without injuries their prestige, dignity and honors in complete privacy. Zakat is used in the following areas.

EDUCATION ASSISTANCE

As we have mentioned the basic aim of OMYS is to promote higher and professional education so OMYS gives prime importance to promote trend of getting professional education for youth of community to propose the youth for new challenges lying a head in the future, to meet this requirement OMYS provides Books, School & College fees, stationery and uniform to actual needy and deserving children right from nursery to graduate level. Beside OMYS also has been sent to few students for education abroad i.e. UK.

Alhamdulillah OMYS had been able to provide financial supports in education sector in greater than ever before which could not be dreamed without the generous support by the donors and our friends and well wishers.

MONTHLY RATION

In this scenario it’s very difficult for widows to make both ends meet while living lonely therefore, OMYS is also involved in research and inquiry to find out the actually needy persons i.e. Widows and Orphans. Who are deprived to get their food even. Alhamd Ulillah OMYS has been able to provide free ration to the ever increased number of families.

DOWRY

Those community people, who do not have roof on their heads, OMYS is the one who provide Dowry facilities to hundreds of deserving community sisters with great honesty and sincerity and OMYS safeguard (Izzat-e-Nafs).

The Members of Jahez committee plays a very important role, they investigate with privacy & confidentially & then Jahez provide to the needy sisters. The reason of investigation is to maintained record of Zakat disbursement & self satisfaction either Zakat distribution is in well manners / not.

HEALTH & MEDICAL TREATMENT

Where OMYS support for education there OMYS also help for poors in the shape of medical aid. Our members are kind enough to report about genuine and deserving patients and after necessary clarification patients are given help without any delay.

ASSISTANCE FOR BUSINESS PURPOSE

OMYS Team aim is to decrease the number of Zakat recipient from community, that’s why OMYS provide business support funds to deserving persons, so that they may run their own small business, and instead of taking zakat from OMYS they should able to give Zakat to the community. Keeping in view OMYS has to types of business aid small and longer business this obligation divided in two committees, small business looking after by zakat disbursement committee and long business by Business Support committee both committee members inquire and investigate about the applicant and then aid given to needy person.

PROVISION OF SEWING MACHINE

In view of connectivity with the zakat cases it came to know that there are lots of widows and lonely women in their home and they are not able to go out for earning purpose, for this reason sewing Machine are distributed by OMYS to widows and poor families to earn their income through their own.

PROVISION OF SHELTER + HOUSING TO HOMELESS

OMYS is aware of the poor members of the Okhai Memon Community who do not have their own house to live in with respect and dignity. To provide house to those homeless OMYS is paying about Rs. 8,000,000.00 to Okhai Memon Jamat in the shape of Housing Aid so that we can also eliminate the houselessners environment in our community.
